6. The Smiley Face even appears in the American movie, Forrest Gump In 1994, the ‘Smiley Face' even appeared in the world wide hugely successful American movie, Forrest Gump. In the movie Gump runs across America several times. During this time, a shirt is given to Gump and when he wipes his face the dirt stained shirt reveals what seems to be eyes and a mouth. This is the scene where the Smiley Face is born. Of course this story is just fictional, owever in the 1970's it was America's symbol for peace and as a symbol it encouraged people.
